9 Black Female-Owned Businesses to Support in Clarksville Tennessee

Though it sparked from the current turmoil the black community and the world is in right now, I have loved seeing the surge of support for black-owned businesses. I’ve seen so many businesses in so many cities have a spotlight placed on them, so I wanted to make sure that I gave a shout out to some amazing black, female-owned businesses in my hometown, Clarksville, TN.
Since Money Magazine named Clarksville “The Best Place to Live in America” the city has been booming. In addition to all of the new businesses that have popped up around here, there are also some dope Black women here seriously doing the damn thing. Below are 9 of my favorite black, female-owned businesses that I need you all to know about. Learn about them, give them a follow, and I hope that you’ll also shop with them.
Juice and Rootz
If you like cold-pressed juice and uplifting women, I’d direct you to The Juicing Station every time. Both Chelsea and Erica care about more than just juice, and truly take an investment in the lives of each one of their “health buddies.” They offer a variety of fresh juices, sizes, and plans that allow them to meet you where you are in your journey and help you get to the next level.
Millennium Financial Services
Credit is SO important and right behind that is financial literacy. I have worked with Selena personally on my own credit journey and she is a GEM. Finances are a tough situation to talk about and I appreciate how Selena never made me feel bad about my situation or lack of knowledge. In addition to providing credit repair, Selena also has several resources available for those getting started with credit repair and/or even buying their first home.
Conscious Roots
Adriene is a self-proclaimed health & wellness advocate, herbal cultivator, and seamoss boss. She carries an incredible line of herbal teas, supplements, and waist trainers. I haven’t had a chance to try all of her products just yet, but her seamoss was BOMB. I had never tried it before but she talked me through my reservations and also offered me a ginger flavored version to help ease me in. Health was on the top of many people’s goal sheets for 2020, and Adriene will help you make sure you get it checked off.
Dae Bak Chophouse
DBC is technically not black owned, BUT Tammy is black and that’s her mama SO they’re going on the list. If you’re looking for fire, feel good Korean food this is the place to go. My best friend is Korean, so I’ve been eating home cooked Korean food for YEARS, and Dae Bak is the best I’ve had at a restaurant ever. On top of the food being delicious the hospitality is amazing. Every time I’ve gone in Tammy and her mom have been so sweet and welcoming. Each customer is treated with so much care it makes the entire experience special.
Drinks On Me Mobile Bartending
As an event coordinator having the right bartender is so important. Drinks can set the vibe and take any event to the next level, however, an irresponsible bartender can take an event from 100-0 REAL QUICK. Sondra is so professional and also so much fun. I worked with her for a brunch I hosted, and so many of my guests came up to me to tell me how much they enjoyed her and how great the drinks were. If you’re looking for a bartender who takes their job seriously and will also keep the mood up, book her!!
Higher Level Hair Studio
There are so many incredible black, female hairstyles here in Clarksville, but the only one I’ve ever let do my hair is Ava Freeman. From my long silver and blue bob to my peek-a-boo coloring, Ava is responsible for some of my most memorable hairstyles. Not only is Ava a bomb colorist, but she’s also very skilled with natural hair and is a licensed hair loss technician. Trusting someone with your hair is tough, but Ava is it.
Butterfly Moment
You know that saying ‘doing the Lord’s work’? Chile, Ms. Mary is doing the Lord’s Work. Butterfly Moments is the only recovery center for women dealing with alcohol and substance abuse in Montgomery County. Mary has opened her heart and multiple homes to support women on the road to recovery. Though this isn’t a business you can patron the same as the others the support is needed just as much.
Esthetician Spirit
I’m going to put it like this, after my session with Spirit I legit had new skin. Spirit is a true professional who knows about more than just face masks and creams. Her in-depth knowledge of skin and health helped me just as much, if not more, as her high-tech equipment and detailed procedures. What I appreciate about Spirit more than other estheticians is that she could talk to me about MY skin and not just skin in general. That’s important.
Seasons Market
I’m not 100% sure that we deserve Seasons Market, but Shani gave it to us anyway. Seasons Market specialized in bulk herbs, spices, local farm raised foods, and essential oils. You can also find natural and organic cleaning products, home goods, baby care, and so much more. My first time walking in this store I stayed for at least 2 hours and dropped some serious coin. Both she and her husband were incredibly knowledgeable and helped me and other customers navigate through aisles to find what would help us the best. If you have some time, stop in to shop and stay for some lunch. The food is delicious and the tea will be just what your soul needs.
