2nd Annual Nashville Blogger Bash

The Blogger Bash came almost too quickly after Black Women in Creative Spaces, but I’m so thankful that I was able to truly dive in and give it the attention it deserves.

This was my second year hosting the blogger bash and my first doing it on this scale. I remember after finishing last year and thinking “next year go big or go home.” I’ve been working really hard to grow the collective and create an inclusive community for content creators here in Nashville. When putting together the Blogger Bash I knew that I had to bring everything the community is online into the real world.

The weekend consisted of three days on networking, education, and fun. We started Friday meeting and mingling at Reese Witherspoon’s flagship Draper James with cocktails and light bites. Saturday guests gathered at Nossi College of Art to attend classes, shop exclusive local vendors, and enjoy luxury services provided by amazing local estheticians and beauty brands. We closed out the weekend with a beautifully decorated brunch at Trimble House keynoted by Brooke Wilkerson of The Coffee and Chaos Blog.

When deciding on which bloggers to ask to present and be panelist I had two things in mind: diversity and execution. Execution was the conference theme so it was important to select bloggers who were actually blogging as a business and who could teach people how to do the things that they were good at. When it came to diversity I wanted our speakers who truly represented the blogging community in Nashville. I also wanted a diverse group of top influencers who could come to Nashville and give some perspective on being an influencer on a global scale.

I selected bloggers of different backgrounds, niches, genders, ethnicity, and age ranges. I asked bloggers to speak who were new to the industry and those who have been doing this as long as it’s be around. I wanted to offer multiple perspectives and varying levels of knowledge so that guests could be met where they were, and I think I did exactly that.

Our 3 featured speakers were women that I truly admire. I didn’t find them all on purpose, but I swear the universe brought each of them to me. I cannot thank Marie, Brooke, and Michelle enough for believing in my vision and wanting to help me bring it to reality. The blogging community can definitely get a bad wrap, but I have met some of the most caring, compassionate, and helpful people through blogging.

One of my absolute favorite things about the event was getting to marry two of my passion projects and show them to the world. My business Grandma’s Charm did all of the event decor, setup up, and styling. It was such a pleasure setting up photo backdrops, table settings, and room decor to create the ambiance for guests and bring the event theme to reality. My business partner Deven and I have been working like crazy to build our business up so it was amazing to finally get to show everyone what we could do.

I am so thankful to everyone who attended as well as all of the sponsors, vendors, and supporters. Video recaps and photo galleries from the event can be found on my Facebook page. Go check them out and also be sure to like it!
